Late Victorian Mahogany and Pine Specialised Storage Chest - A late Victorian rectangular storage chest of utilitarian form, constructed with a mahogany exterior and secondary pine interior. The chest is shallow and elongated, featuring hand-cut dovetails at the corners and a dark-stained finish. It is fitted with a brass bail handle and a simple brass latch. The interior contains a single, fixed turned wooden spool or bobbin-like fitting, suggesting a specialised mechanical or functional application. The exterior retains faint, illegible white markings to the lower front face and a yellow auction lot sticker numbered 735. No maker labels or stamps are present.
