Two 19th-century Steel Engravings titled A Sailor's Sweetheart and Ferrybridge - A pair of mid-19th-century steel engravings, presented in modern frames. The first print, titled A Sailor's Sweetheart, is a genre scene depicting a woman on a wooden pier overlooking a harbour with ships. It includes the inscription Page 73 in the upper right margin, indicating its origin as a book or periodical illustration. The second print, titled Ferrybridge, is a topographical view of a multi-arched bridge spanning a river, with figures in rowing boats and a masted vessel in the foreground. Both works exhibit the fine, precise hatched line work characteristic of the steel engraving technique. The prints are housed in dark wood frames with a gilded inner sight edge and are mounted behind glass with light grey and cream card mounts. Small inscriptions and plate information are visible in the margins of both prints.
