Late 19th or Early 20th Century Anglo-Indian Ebonised Folding Tray Table - An Anglo-Indian or North African style folding tray table, typical of those retailed by firms such as Liberty & Co. of London during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The piece features a removable circular brass tray top, intricately hand-engraved with concentric bands of foliate, floral, and geometric patterns, finished with a scalloped and raised rim. The tray is supported by an ebonised wood folding base. The stand is constructed with turned legs and cross-stretchers, incorporating decorative spindle-work galleries in the mashrabiya style. While the design is highly characteristic of items imported for the Aesthetic Movement market, no maker marks or labels are visible on the brass or the wooden components.
