Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Floral Patterned
A Collection of Floral Patterned Ceramic Serving Pieces Attributed to Alfred Meakin - This collection of cream-coloured earthenware serving ware features a traditional transfer-printed floral pattern. The lot includes an oval lidded tureen resting on a matching underplate, alongside a set of graduated oval serving platters. The decorative border displays clusters of pink roses and small blue flowers linked by a blue trellis or lace-like design, set within a narrow gold-coloured geometric band. All pieces exhibit scalloped edges finished with gilded rims. The tureen lid is topped with a fluted finial, and the vessel body features integral scalloped handles. While no backstamps are visible in the images, the style, form, and decoration are highly consistent with the Sol range attributed to Alfred Meakin. The items currently bear temporary auction room labels.
