A Set of Ten German Lead Crystal Goblets - A suite of ten large lead crystal wine or water goblets of German manufacture. Each vessel is decorated with an intricate, deeply cut pattern featuring a wide band of large diamonds above a field of fine cross-hatching, designed to maximise light refraction. The glasses are constructed with short, plain stems and circular feet. Several examples retain their original gold and brown circular foil labels which read Echt Bleikristall über 24%, indicating a lead oxide content of over 24 per cent. This pattern bears a strong resemblance to the Wessex design produced by Schott Zwiesel.
