A Pair of Egyptian Style Carved Sculptures Depicting Processional Boats - This pair of carved sculptures, fashioned from a material resembling bone or resin, depicts processional scenes inspired by ancient Egyptian iconography. Each piece features a line of stylised figures aboard a slender, curved vessel reminiscent of a traditional papyrus boat. The larger sculpture displays seven figures in various dynamic poses, including standing and kneeling figures wearing traditional-style kilts and headdresses. The gunwale of the larger boat is decorated with a row of small circular indentations. The smaller boat includes six figures, with the central figure depicted as the falcon-headed deity Horus. The carvings exhibit a uniform creamy-white colour throughout. Both items bear adhesive labels: orange stickers with the handwritten digits 1, 2, and 5, and the smaller piece also features a white rectangular sticker with the printed numerals 1 and 4. The smaller boat is mounted onto a stepped, dark-toned rectangular plinth. No maker's marks or signatures are visible.
