A Boxed Hornby O Gauge Clockwork LNER Passenger Train Set - This vintage Hornby O gauge train set is manufactured by Meccano Ltd of Liverpool. The set comprises a collection of lithographed tinplate items including a clockwork 0-4-0 steam locomotive finished in green LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) livery with the number 460 to the cab side. It is accompanied by a matching tender with L N E R lettering and a passenger coach in a brown teak-effect LNER livery featuring detailed window and door lithography. Also included is an assortment of curved and straight tinplate track sections. The collection is housed in its original cardboard box which features a large colour pictorial label to the interior of the lid depicting a speeding LNER locomotive. The label includes the markings Hornby Train, British and Guaranteed, and Made in England by Meccano Ltd, Liverpool.
