The piece is manufactured from a brass-toned metal featuring a continuous series of repetitive pierced circular motifs in a sunburst design. These motifs are set within an ornate lattice-work border. The trough-shaped body is supported by four small integrated bracket feet. The surfaces show a layered patina where the original brass-toned finish has worn to reveal a darker base metal.
