Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Provincial Brown-Glazed

A Trio of Provincial Brown-Glazed Stoneware and Earthenware Vessels - This lot comprises three pieces of utilitarian ceramic ware, including two storage jars and a two-part casserole dish. The two storage jars are characteristic of provincial European or British confit pots, featuring ovoid bodies with a two-tone finish. This finish consists of a chocolate-brown glaze to the upper two-thirds and an unglazed red earthenware base. The larger jar has a wide, flared rim. The medium-sized jar features twin integral loop handles at the shoulder. The third item is a circular cooking pot or casserole with a streaked brown glaze and integral handles. This vessel features a cream-coloured slip-glazed interior and is accompanied by a separate circular stand with vertical fluted decoration. No maker's marks, capacity stamps, or signatures are visible on any of the pieces. Large jar height: approximately 35-40 cm.
