A Trio of Vintage Sadler Glazed Earthenware Character Canisters - A trio of vintage lidded kitchen canisters produced by Sadler. The earthenware jars are relief-moulded in the form of stylised cultural figures. One figure wears a wide-brimmed hat, another a skullcap with a central tassel and long moustache, and the third a conical hat with hands tucked into sleeves. The pieces are finished in monochromatic glazes of ochre, terracotta, and olive green. The ochre-glazed figure features the word COFFEE in relief on the reverse, while the terracotta-glazed figure features the word TEA. The olive green figure is the third in the set, traditionally intended for sugar. No factory marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
