Two Mid-Century Modern Ceramics comprising a Carlton Ware Hand-Painted Dish and an Avraham Gofer Pottery Tile - This lot comprises two pieces of mid-century modern decorative ceramics. The first is a Carlton Ware earthenware dish of kidney-shaped form. It features a hand-painted minimalist motif of grasses in dark brown against a cream-coloured ground, finished with a dark brown border to the rim. The underside bears the brown printed mark Carlton Ware Handpainted, MADE IN ENGLAND, TRADE MARK REGISTERED, AUSTRALIAN DESIGN. The second item is a square glazed earthenware tile by Avraham Gofer. The decoration features a stylised water bird among reeds, executed in muted green, grey, and off-white glazes, defined by bold terracotta-coloured outlines in a sgraffito-style technique. Two adhesive labels are present on the upper surface.
