Two Mid-Century Beaded and Embroidered Evening Bags - A collection of two vintage evening bags dating from the mid-20th century. The first is a rectangular envelope-style clutch featuring heavy Zardozi-style hand embroidery on a cream textile base, likely silk or satin. The decoration consists of metallic gold-tone thread, faux pearls, and multi-coloured beads forming a central stylized floral and butterfly motif, surrounded by a repeating grid pattern of raised faux pearls and metallic threadwork. The second item is a mid-century frame bag featuring densely applied black and silver-tone micro-beads on a fabric carcass. The beads are arranged in a repeating geometric lozenge or diamond pattern. It is fitted with a textured silver-tone metal frame and a matching silver-tone curb-link chain handle.
