A Collection of Carlton China Art Deco Hand Painted Tea and Dessert Wares - A collection of fine bone china tea and dessert wares manufactured by Wiltshaw and Robinson under the Carlton China brand. The service features a vibrant Art Deco style hand painted abstract floral and foliate pattern executed in a palette of yellow, orange, red, blue, green, and purple. Each piece is finished with gilded rims, while the cups and jugs feature fully gilded high loop handles. The collection includes a large rectangular twin handled sandwich tray with a scalloped edge, multiple teacups, saucers, side plates, a cream jug, a teapot, and a lidded sugar bowl. The base of the pieces carries the backstamp Carlton China in script over MADE IN ENGLAND in block capitals. A small gilt painter mark or firing blemish is visible in the centre of the base on some pieces.
