Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Royal Doulton
A Trio of Royal Doulton Bone China Figurines - This lot comprises three Royal Doulton glazed bone china figurines, each depicting a female subject in detailed historical or ceremonial attire. The first figurine, titled Good Day Sir (HN 2896), depicts a standing lady in a Victorian-style deep purple gown with a white shawl and a white mob cap with black trim, holding two gift boxes tied with red ribbons. The base features a printed Royal Doulton factory mark with a crown over a lion, the model name and number, a facsimile signature for modeller William K. Harper, and a copyright date of 1985. It includes hand-painted artist marks including the number 22 in green and a pink RJ monogram. The second figurine, titled The Little Bridesmaid (HN 1433), represents a young girl wearing a tiered, ruffled dress of alternating pink and purple shades, holding a small bouquet of red and yellow flowers. The base carries a circular Royal Doulton printed mark and hand-painted green script reading Potted by Doulton & Co., the title, registration number 760007, and model number HN 1433. The Potted by mark indicates an earlier production date, typically prior to 1940. The third figurine, titled Clarissa (HN 2345), shows a woman in a pale green dress with a white and pink striped puffed-sleeve bodice, holding a large gathered bouquet of yellow flowers. The base is marked with the Royal Doulton factory stamp, the title Clarissa, model number HN 2345, a 1967 copyright for Doulton & Co Limited, and multiple registration numbers including Rd No 931276. Hand-painted marks 17 and letters CB are also present.
