An ornate chased white metal lidded ewer with floral and foliate scrollwork - A chased white metal lidded jug or ewer, likely constructed from tinned copper or brass. The body and lid are decorated with dense hand-chased ornamentation featuring scrolling foliate and floral arabesques arranged within lobed medallions. These motifs are set against a background of fine, cross-hatched diaper-pattern engraving. The recessed areas of the design have been darkened to provide contrast against the polished raised surfaces. The vessel features a curved handle and a hinged, domed lid surmounted by a small spherical finial. A white rectangular adhesive label is applied to the body, printed with the numbers 19 19. A bright orange adhesive label is adhered to the lid, hand-marked with the number 27. No further marks, signatures, or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
