The exterior is heavily decorated in a Rococo revival style, showcasing high-relief scrolling acanthus leaves, floral sprays, and a stippled background texture. The lid is designed with a central smooth oval medallion. The interior is lined with an orange velvet-effect fabric. The lid is secured to the body with two small hinges fastened by Phillips-head screws. A white rectangular adhesive label printed with the number 17 and a smaller orange circular adhesive label with the handwritten number 36 are adhered to the central medallion on the lid. No maker marks, hallmarks, or stamps are visible on the exterior or accessible interior surfaces.
