A Pair of Late Victorian Earthenware Wash Jug and Basin with Bramble Decoration - This set consists of a large ceramic wash jug and a matching wash basin, both manufactured from creamy white glazed earthenware. The pieces are decorated with a multi-colour transfer-printed design featuring a naturalistic bramble motif with ripe blackberries, pink blossoms, and leaves in shades of green, yellow, and brown. The jug has a bulbous form with vertical lobing around the lower half and a scrolled handle with moulded foliate details. The basin is shallow with a wide, multi-lobed scalloped rim. A rectangular orange adhesive label printed with the number 102 and a smaller white rectangular adhesive label printed with the number 4 are attached to the rim of the basin. No maker names, factory stamps, or marks are visible on the surfaces shown in the photographs.
