Drexler was a German nationalist and political activist best known as the founder of the German Workers’ Party (Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, DAP) — the small political group that became the Nazi Party (NSDAP) once Adolf Hitler joined and took control. In 1919, Drexler founded the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP), a small right-wing workers’ party that aimed to blend nationalism with anti-Marxism and antisemitism. On February 24, 1920, Drexler and Hitler co-authored and publicly presented the 25-Point Program of the newly renamed National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP). While Drexler contributed much of the economic and nationalist language, Hitler shaped the propagandistic and racial tone that would define the movement.
