The reverse is maker-marked 'GES. FUESS MÜNCHEN' and is numbered 73007. Constructed of gilt metal with enamel infill. The Golden Party Badge (Goldenes Parteiabzeichen) was the NSDAP's highest party decoration, awarded primarily to members holding numbers 1–100,000 who had joined the party before 1933, or presented as a personal honour by Hitler to individuals who rendered distinguished service to the movement thereafter. Numbered examples such as this were individually registered and issued through the party chancellery, making them traceable in surviving Nazi party records, unlike the unnumbered versions produced for sale. Recipients were typically senior party functionaries, early adherents, or figures Hitler wished to honour personally, and the badge carried significant status within the party hierarchy. Fuess of Munich was one of several firms licensed to manufacture official party regalia during the Third Reich period.
