Third Reich Nazi 5 Reichsmark Silver Coin - Third Reich Nazi 5 Reichsmark Silver CoinThe 5 Reichsmark silver coin was issued during the Third Reich period, continuing a denomination first introduced in the Weimar Republic. Several designs circulated in this period, including commemorative issues marking anniversaries and the well-known ”Hindenburg” type bearing the late President Paul von Hindenburg's effigy, some variants of which also carried the swastika on the reverse. These coins remained in circulation alongside earlier German currency until the collapse of the Reichsmark system at the end of the Second World War.
