Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Lenci Austrian
A Trio of Lenci Austrian Disney Dolls. - (Lenci, 1960s-70s) A rare set of dolls from the Lenci Company of Italy. Lenci is best remembered for their Disney animated character and Tom and Jerry dolls. These three dolls are dressed in traditional Austrian garb, with one bearing a label that it is a ”little shepherd” doll licensed from Walt Disney. Each doll has a heat-pressed wool face, delicate and fine hand-painted facial features, and mohair hair. Measuring 8.5” to 9” tall, each doll is in very good-to-fine condition, exhibiting a few spots of discoloration and a few signs of wear to its elements. The set comes with paperwork from Lenci dating to the 1980s calling these vintage ”Lenci original” dolls, and a green ribbon for winning fourth place in the United Federation of Doll Clubs 1987 Scottsdale Arizona show.
