Ebonised and gilt wood frame. Measurement: 28,5 x 35cm. Provenance: Bavarian private collection ”Saul at the Necromancer of En-Dor, ” abbreviated with ”The Witch of Endor, ” from 1 Sam 28:3-25, is a rare painting theme, and not only in glass painting. A comparable reverse painting with the theme ”Daniel's dream of the four epochs” can be seen in Dewiel 1986, p. 39, fig. 8 - it may, perhaps, be the same painter.
