MAHOGANY WRITING CABINET WITH ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS - MAHOGANY WRITING CABINET WITH ARCHITECTURAL ELEMENTS. Germany. Date: Ca. 1815. Technique: Mahogany, maple amongst others polished, wood white-polychromed or gold-plated. Gilt bronze and brass applications. Description: Two-part, tall rectangular body with three-drawer base with fall-front writing desk and stepped, architectural structure. At the top, in the raised central niche with mirrored rear panel, a small pavilion with dome is inserted. The sides are flanked by lower compartments, the front by hinged doors with niches and the outer sides by columns. The writing compartment on the sides has built-in drawers, each with three small drawers under two open compartments. In the middle is an architectural installation with an open staircase, columns, and a mirrored rear panel. Measurement: 200x108x53cm. Provenance: Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia.
