Carved Coral-Brooch/-Pendant - Origin: Presumably Germany and Taiwan. Material: 750/- yellow gold, tested. Weight: 43 g. Measurement: ca. 6.8 x 1.3 - 3.6 cm. Organic Matter: 1 carved coral piece, dark salmon-coloured with faint white veins (probably Corallium elatius, ”Momo” coral, Taiwan). Description: Artist’s hallmark “FG”. Carved coral element in the shape of a branch, entwined with flowers and leaves. Fine growth characteristics visible. Set in a solid gold casting, which has been adapted to the coral. Setting, brooch fastening, and pendant eyelets are modern. The coral is possibly antique and has been reworked at a later date. Protective layer of colourless synthetic resin added.
