Giampaolo Babetto’s bracelet and brooch are based on a serial arrangement of delicate gold elements. Slender rods and small gold plates are assembled into rhythmic structures, with individual sections of the gold blackened. This partial blackening creates a nuanced interplay of light and dark that emphasises the linear construction of the pieces. In the bracelet, the parallel elements combine to form a flexible, ribbon-like structure that adapts to the wrist and creates a transparent, rhythmic surface. The brooch is condensed according to the same principle into a clear, triangular form, in which the staggered rods and plates create a fan-like structure.
