Rare silvered bronze table clock in the shape of a lighthouse - FRANCE Title: Rare silvered bronze table clock in the shape of a lighthouse. Date: Around 1870. Material: Gold-plated and silver-plated bronze, clear glass, etc. Measurement: 25 x 9.5 x 9.5 cm. Mark: The case known as ‘PONS 6’ (see Tardy, p. 529). Description: The case is designed in the shape of a miniature lighthouse. It features a rectangular base with simulated masonry joints. Above this sits the main housing, which tapers toward the top and also features trompe-l’oeil masonry. Topped by a square platform with an openwork balustrade and the domed lantern housing. The rotating light is simulated by glass rods integrated into the balance wheel assembly. The round enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued hands is located below. 7-day movement with duplex escapement. Two keys included. Provenance: - Private collection, Rhineland.
