PORCELAIN COFFEE POT WITH HARBOUR SCENES - MEISSEN Title: PORCELAIN COFFEE POT WITH HARBOUR SCENES. Date: Moulding ca. 1722, painting ca. 1725/1730. Designer: Decor attributed to Johann George Heintze. Material: Poercelain, enriched in polychrome and gold. Measurement: Height 21 cm. Mark: Gold number '42' (on both parts). Description: On a small base a pear-shaped body with a spout and a leaf-motif handle. On both sides, large quatrefoil cartouches of foliage and strapwork in gold and iron red with lustrous fields (?). Within these, finely painted harbour scenes. In the spaces between and on the handle, 'Indian' floral motifs and insects. Beneath the upper rim, a broad gold lace border. Domed lid with a pagoda-shaped finial, painted circumferentially and across the entire surface with merchant scenes. Provenance: - Kurt and Ilse Baden Collection – Art Foundation Baden.
