Measurement: 3,5 x 25 x 13 cm. Mark: On the inside of the lid, inscribed: ‘Weights and measures by M: Tönnes of Aachen, sworn master of weights and measures of the city of Cologne, residing on St John’s Street. 1650’. Description: A large, rectangular box with ornamental embossed and engraved decoration. Inside the drawer, 40 weights featuring coin designs, with their weights marked in black ink. Beneath the lid, 4 calibration weights. The beam balance has one round and one triangular pan. A pair of tweezers is inserted at the side. Provenance: - Old Private Collection, Rhineland.
