Jean Chrétien Valois (1809-1894) ‘Portraits of Mr. René Frédéric baron Groeninx van Zoelen (1800-1859) and Aurelia Elisabeth van Limburg Stirum (1812-1899)’, both unsigned. They married in 1830. Baron Groeninx van Zoelen, lord of Ridderkerk, Oud- en Nieuw-Herkingen and Roxenisse, was a member of the Dutch First Chamber of the States General. Mrs. van Limburg Stirum was dame-du-palais in the years 1857-1876 and dame-du-palais honorary from 1876 until her death of Queens Sophia, Emma and Wilhelmina. Both watercolours, 24 x 20 cm & 28,5 x 24 cm.
