A 22K yellow gold ring with amethyst with intaglio portrait - A 22K yellow gold ring with amethyst with intaglio portrait The high, conical centre piece of the ring is set with a round amethyst measuring about 10.4 mm in diameter, featuring an intaglio, depicting the en profil portrait of a man. The amethyst is set in a jagged rim, the centre piece features a twisted wire and four small granules. Believed to be c. 1st - 3rd century AD. Gross weight: c. 5.5 grams.
