Oval lithograph with passepartout framed behind glass in an oval wooden frame painted in gold. Finely worked depiction of a festive scene in an extensive garden with a lake. Elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen stroll along the shore or sail on boats. Galant festivities in a rural landscape with lush vegetation are mostly couples in love, dancers, beautiful ladies and shepherds. They were mainly created in France in the early 18th century. Among the well-known painters are Antoine Watteau, François Boucher, Jean-Baptiste Pater, Jean François de Troy, Jean-Honoré Fragonard and Nicolas Lancret. Dimensions: frame dimensions approx. 57 x 48 cm, image dimensions approx. 39 x 30 cm. Very good condition with slight traces of age.
