Depiction of a winter landscape under an evening sky. On the left is a house between trees, with firelight in the windows and a smoking chimney. On the right is a frozen lake on which children are playing with sledges and skates. In the background, other people can be seen on the lake, as well as a village with a snow-covered church tower and, further away, a windmill. Very detailed and worked with fine brushstrokes in bright colours. Signed lower left: ”Werner Zapf”. Dimensions: frame dimensions approx. 35.5 x 29.5 cm. In very good condition, small losses in the oil colour on the far right, frame with slight traces of use.
