Naked, bathing mermaids can be seen in the foreground, one of which is being pulled up by a fishing line that a nobly dressed man is lowering from a castle wall. Very finely rendered and detailed in bold colors. Monogrammed lower left: O.E. 1926. Measures approx. 35.5 x 41 cm with frame. In very good condition with slight traces of age and use, slight craquelure, one stain upper right, frame with paint flaking.
