Atmospheric depiction of a foggy landscape with a wide ploughed field, in which a wagon with a draught animal and a man with two wide animals can be seen dimly. Signed and dated in the wet paint lower left: J. Bräckle 44, illegibly titled and dated on the reverse. Image dimensions 23 x 14 cm, frame dimensions 23.5 x 32.5 cm. In very good condition with few traces of age and use. Jakob Bräckle (10 December 1897 in Winterreute, today a district of Biberach an der Riß - 29 October 1987 in Biberach an der Riß) was a German painter. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart under Landenberger, Speyer and Altherr, he returned to his homeland and became known as the so-called ”artist of the clod”. In 1977, he was awarded the title of professor by the state of Baden-Württemberg.
