Antique delicate gold medallion brooch, mid-19th century; - Antique delicate gold medallion brooch, mid-19th century; min. 14K / 0.585 fineness (acid test), case up to approx. 18K gold. Filigree work in thin gold sheet, yellow and rose gold. With delicate beaded ornamentation as a border, interior featuring filigree gold wire decorations and a set centrepiece with a mounted pearl, medallion with a glass insert and rose gold border, pin on the reverse, hallmarked ‘585’, case with an old master’s mark indistinctly stamped (remnants visible). With signs of age and wear; frame on the reverse with a partial loss. L. 45mm. Weight 14.9g.
