Using deliberately unconventional materials, he playfully explores the tension between artistic form and materiality. Brodwolf forms a fragile, veil-like figure from painted linen covered with chalk slurry. The elongated, bandaged-looking figure is reminiscent of a mummy or archaic cult figure and, when presented in the display case, takes on an haunting, relic-like presence. The abstract, self-contained posture creates a sombre atmosphere and makes the sculpture appear as a symbol of human vulnerability.
