Signed and dated ”Kornetzky 1985/86” in the lower right corner. Photorealistic portrait of a woman with a surrealistic image concept. In a technically highly precise painting style, the face appears to be covered by a wrinkled, skin-like shell that opens like a shell in the forehead area. The meticulous reproduction of skin texture, wrinkles, light reflections and hair gives the painting an almost photographic presence. The piercing blue eyes, which emerge with intense clarity from the fragile-looking shell, are particularly striking. Their alert, almost penetrating gaze forms the emotional centre of the composition and heightens the psychological tension between external masking and inner identity. The contrast between photorealistic technique and unsettling, symbolically charged motifs lends the work a strong conceptual depth. A typical work from the mid-1980s, caught between photorealism and surreal figuration. Large-format painting in original white frame, 174 x 164 cm. Good condition. On the reverse side, there is an exhibition label from the Haus der Kunst in Munich with the exhibition number.
