Carl Schwalbach was a German painter. He studied at the Munich Art School and Academy under Gabriel von Hackl and Carl von Marr. After completing his studies, Schwalbach lived and worked in Munich. He created life-size nudes and groups of nudes in landscapes, whose delicate, muted colours evoke a lyrical mood that has sometimes been compared to "magical realism."
