2 - Kenner Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Vinyl Carrying Cases with 48 Action Figures, c. 1980 - This lot features two vintage Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back vinyl collector cases manufactured by Kenner. Each case is constructed of black vinyl over a rigid frame, featuring a vibrant color graphic on the front depicting Yoda, Darth Vader, Lando Calrissian, Princess Leia, and other key characters from the 1980 film. The cases are marked with the Kenner logo and a 1980 Lucasfilm Ltd. copyright. The interiors house molded plastic compartmented trays, one in a light gray-blue and the other in beige, designed to organize and protect the collection. Included are 48 articulated plastic action figures in the 3.75-inch scale. The assortment includes a wide array of characters such as Han Solo in Hoth gear, Lando Calrissian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Emperor's Royal Guard, Imperial Pilots, Snowtroopers, and various cantina and background aliens including Hammerhead, Greedo, and Bossk. These items represent the quintessential toy line of the early 1980s. Each case measures approximately 9 by 12 inches. Condition: The cases exhibit signs of age and moderate play wear, including surface scuffing, creasing to the vinyl, and minor soil. The white plastic handles and snap closures are functional. One internal plastic tray contains a broken divider. The 48 action figures show varying degrees of paint loss and play wear. Most figures appear to be missing their original handheld accessories such as blasters or lightsabers.
