Moore Pair of Open Salts Cellars In .925 Sterling Silver - This exquisite pair of antique salt cellars, crafted by Tiffany & Co. in New York in 1921, exemplifies the finest Art Deco craftsmanship under the presidency of John C. Moore. Made from solid .925 sterling silver with a high-polished finish, these cellars are designed in the classical George III style, inspired by Dorothy Mills' original 1755 London designs. Accompanied by two matching salt spoons, the set weighs 190.95 grams (122.45 dwt) and measures 76 x 76 x 33 mm (3 x 3 x 1.30 inches). Each piece is stamped with Tiffany's maker's mark, silver assay mark, order number, inventory reference, and the letter ”M” for John C. Moore, along with the inscription: ”TIFFANY & CO. 19002 MAKERS 6145 STERLING SILVER 925-1000 2174/2176 REPRODUCTION ORIGINAL BY DOROTHY MILLS LONDON 1755.” A rare and exceptional example of Tiffany's timeless artistry.
