1870 Chatelaine Enamel Watch in 18kt yellow Gold - Late 19th-century Swiss cylinder watch in a gold, enamel, and split-pearl set case with matching chatelaine. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel, plain cock with polished steel regulator, three-arm gilt balance with blued steel hairspring, and polished steel cylinder with steel escape wheel. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals and pierced gilt hands.Small gold open-face case with box hinges and gold cuvette. The back features an offset 18th-century-style polychrome enamel scene of a cherub and cupid, framed by split pearls, with chased and engraved foliate gold decoration on a dark blue enamel ground. Tapering gold links connect to a matching buckle with a pin allowing it to be worn as a brooch; the buckle scene shows a cherub fishing. Total weight: 35.50 grams. Measurements: 4.0 x 1.0 inches.
