Shu”t Degel Reuven. Author's Handwriting - Responsa by Rabbi Reuven Katz. Warsaw, 1923. The author, Rabbi Reuven Katz (1880-1964), was rabbi of Petach Tikvah for over 30 years. He was rabbi of Amdur from 1909-1923 and in 1923 he moved to Staviski to serve as rabbi there. Following instructions from the Chafetz Chaim, he set out in 1929 as an emissary of the Radin yeshivah to the United States, and served as rabbi in New Jersey for three years. He also served as the vice president of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis of the United States and Canada. The copy before us indicates that he was rabbi of Amdur, and beside this there is a stamp: ”presently Av Beit Din of Stavisk” and Rabbi Reuven Katz's stamp as rabbi of Stavisk also appears on the flyleaf. The author added in his hand: ”presently rabbi in Boyan ...” Interesting copy with Rabbi Reuven Katz's history and places he served in the rabbinate. Lacking the end.
