Rabbi Dr. Meyer (Marcus) Lehmann (1831-1890) was a disciple of Rabbi Ezriel Hildesheimer and a prominent leader of Orthodox Jewry in Germany and the "Torah Im Derech Eretz" movement. These sermons are historic testimony regarding the beginning of Dr. Lehmann's career, including admiring words for the king, a halachic polemic against the Reformers, and a sermon marking the establishment of his synagogue.
