Ye'alzu Chassidim. Jerusalem, 1883 - Ye'alzu Chassidim  - commentary on  Sefer Chassidim attributed to Rabbi Yehudah HeChassid, by Rabbi Eliezer Papo. Rabbi Eliezer Papo [1786-1828], author of  Pele Yo'etz , served as rabbi of Silistra, Bulgaria. His son writes: ”He afflicted himself astonishingly by fasting, and flogging each and every night in which supplications [תחנונים] are recited. Sackcloth and ashes, thorns and immersions ... and snow-immersion.” He was known as a wonder-worker. Just prior to his passing away, he declared that anyone who prostrates himself at his grave after ritual immersion, recital of psalms and prayer with intent - will be granted salvation and mercy.
