Binder of Issues of the Renowned Journal, 'HaLevanon.' Mainz, 1873
Binder containing dozens of issues from the ninth year of HaLevanon: Michtav Iti B'Sfat Ivr" by Dr. Meir Lehman, by Yechiel Brill. Mainz. On the title page: 9th year, from 24 Av 1872 - 20 Av 1873.

After the Ottoman government closed the journal's publication in Jerusalem, it moved on to Mainz, where these issues were published. In those years, Dr. Meir Lehman participated in editing the journal, as appears on the issues' title page. HaLevanon continued its focus on Land of Israel related topics in other locations. In 1881, HaLevanon started supporting Chibat Tziyon. The press that was used to print the newspaper is presently at the Sadnat HaHedpes collection in Jerusalem.
Approximately [30] issues. Whether this binder contains a complete collection has not been examined. Including the frontispiece. Some of the issues are stamped with postage stamps.
Overall fine condition. Aging stains. Individual worming perforations. Slight tears.
