Me'il Tzedakah. Rabbi Yonah Landsofer. Prague, 1757. Signature

Me'il Tzedakah - responsa by Rabbi Yonah Landsofer with a booklet of geometry and diagrams. First edition. The front flyleaf bears an undeciphered rabbinic signature.

With approbations, including one from the Noda BiYehudah and his beit din. Compilation by the famous mathematician, Euclid, at the end of the book. The book was published anonymously, but the author's name is mentioned in the approbations. In the preface, the author comes out against Jewish society of his time, and writes, "As feelings of fear of Heaven have diminished, diligence has diminished along with wisdom, and Torah has been lost ... Sages have begun to profit from their Torah studies ... agitated youth have arisen along with their disciples ... they have succeeded and become wealthy, and in their riches from amassing wealth that is not theirs, they have become well-known and gathered followers of groups of errant fools."
