Beit Yehudah. Livorno, 1746. First Edition. Signature and Glosses

Beit Yehudah - Responsa on the four parts of Shulchan Aruch by the rabbi of Algeria, the sacred gaon Rabbi Yehudah Iyash - one of those who gave an approbation to the Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh.

The book includes "Dinei Minhagei Argiel" - early Algerian customs. This is the first time Algerian customs were printed. The song at the beginning of the book was written by the author in honor of his teacher [Rabbi Shlomo Yedidyah Tzror], who reportedly brought peace between the author's parents, after which the author was born.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of Rabbi Yehudah Iyash.

Owner's signature on the title page. Three lengthy glosses in an old script on the leaves bearing the Algerian customs. The signature and the glosses have not been investigated.

[2], 44, 47-75, 75-101, 103-121 leaves. 32 cm.
