Many handwritten comments on the flyleaf about the book. Leaf 80 bears a handwritten gloss. It took eight years to print the book! The printing started in 1903, and was stopped due to a dispute. It was completed only in 1911. The background to this dispute is: The gaon Yitzchak Yerucham, the Mahari”l Diskin's son, who inherited printing rights, opposed the book's printing, because in his opinion, the book did not reflect his father's great genius. The contents were originally just short notations, and they are hard to understand without lengthy elucidations. Also, some of it was written in his youth. As a result, two of those who gave approbations, the Adere”t and Rabbi Y. Sh. Elyashar, retracted their approbations and the printing was stopped for eight years, to be completed only in 1911, after both of those who retracted their approbations passed away. After the book's release, another person who had written an approbation declared that he was retracting it. The remainder of the rabbinic leaders of the generation (Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld - the editor's father, Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Bahara”n, Rabbi Yehoshua Tzvi Michel Shapira, rabbi Chaim Berlin and others) affirmed their approbations. * She'elot U'Teshuvot Levush Mordechai  by Rabbi Mordechai Leib son of Rabbi Naftali Winkler, rabbi of Mád.
