Choker U'Mekabel by the Ramch"al. First Edition
Rules of Kabbalistic wisdom presented as a dialogue between a scientist and a Kabbalist, by Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato-Ramcha"l. Shklov, 1785.
First edition of the book authored by the Ramcha"l "who is renowned for his books Kl"ch, Pitchei Chochmah, and Sefer Messilat Yesharim." The second part of the book is Rama"k - Rabbi Moshe Cordovero's Kabbalistic principles.
This work stood at the center of a controversy about the Ramcha"l and his writings. The Ramcha"l wanted to print the book, and even received approbations for it, but Venice rabbis opposed and delayed the printing. The Ramcha"l's teacher, Rabbi Yeshayah Bassan, tried to dissuade him from printing this book, out of concern that it would be to his detriment. In the end, this work was not printed in the Ramcha"l's lifetime; it remained in manuscript.
