Passover Haggadah with Engravings. Frankfurt, 1726. Only Complete Copy in the World?

"Seder Haggadah shel Pesach ... with beautiful pleasant pictures for readers, especially children sitting around their fathers' tables ... and we took new letters and deep black ink ..." Frankfurt am Main, Dafid Yakub Krona Press.

Pictures of Zodiac[!] signs are printed among the book's leaves instead of the traditional haggadah illustrations. Rare phenomenon in individual haggadahs.

That same year, three different editions of this haggadah were printed, all extremely rare, with this edition being the rarest of the group. Not found in the National Library. Listed in Otzar HaHaggadot and Vinograd according to the title page and a segment from only one other leaf that was sold at auction decades ago. This is a complete copy, apparently the only one in the world!

The first two editions were printed at Johann Kelner's Press. This rare edition was printed at David Yakub Krona Press.

Otzar HaHaggadot no. 156. Refer to Yitzchak Yudlov's article "Tziyurei HaMazalot B'Haggadot shel Pesach, " Alei Sefer, 18 (1996) pp, 133-146, that hypothesizes that two of the three editions are from later than 1726, and the year detail was copied from the first edition.

24 leaf. Leaf 24 was mistakenly marked 20. 17 cm.

Fine condition. Isolated worming perforations in the inner margins, with light damage to individual letters. Small perforation in the title page. Characteristic wear and stains.
